I got The Wizard of Oz at our library on Friday and it is really good. Look for it at your library.
It is the original version from 1910. It is only thirteen minutes long and there's no sound but its really good.
Dorothy is played by BeBe Daniels but she was only 9 years old when she made this movie. The scarecrow, the tin man, and the "wizard" look just like in the version that Judy Garland is in. But the other characters are different.
The witches are Glinda the good, but they don't have technology to make her a bubble so they just sort of have her come out from behind a bush.
The bad witch is named Momba and they do have good technology because they pour water on her and she does not melt, she literally just vanishes from the screen like poof she's gone.
They have some people dressed as mules that dance around and its kind of weird but its funny.
When they have the storm, they hide Dorothy in a haystack and then people throw stuff across the screen to make it look like its windy.
They also hang people from wires to look like they can fly in the air.
This version is different in that Dorothy meets the scarecrow before she goes to Oz, he is a scarecrow on her aunt's farm.
Also the end is different. You should look for it. Its good and its neat cause its so old (from 1910) and it has a famous silent movie star (when she was a little girl) playing Dorothy. Its really good.
